For Indian D2C and B2B brands, Shopify is where the sale happens and TallyPrime is where the GST return is filed, and the gap between the two is usually a weekly export that someone cleans up by hand. A TallyPrime Shopify integration posts every Shopify order into Tally as a GST-compliant sales voucher with the correct HSN codes, CGST/SGST or IGST split by place of supply, and payment gateway settlements matched against receipts. Stock movements flow back so Tally inventory and Shopify availability agree. We build this against Tally's XML interface (or Tally Connector setups) and Shopify's Admin API, and it is one of the most common requests we get from Indian e-commerce teams.

Place of supply is derived from the shipping address: intra-state orders split into CGST and SGST, inter-state orders post IGST, using the rate attached to each item's HSN in Tally. B2B orders with a GSTIN are flagged so they can be e-invoiced. Shipping charges and discounts are posted as separate ledgers per your CA's preference.
Shopify pushes orders via webhooks in real time, but Tally usually runs on a desktop or server that is not always reachable, so we stage vouchers and post them in small batches, often every few minutes when Tally is online and in a catch-up run when it reconnects. Inventory pushes to Shopify are typically scheduled.
We match customers on phone and email before creating a ledger, and keep a SKU-to-stock-item map that your accountant can review. Any order that fails validation, for example a missing HSN or an unmapped SKU, is held in an exception list with the reason instead of being posted incorrectly. Every voucher carries the Shopify order number for traceability.
Yes, we can add an MCP server so an assistant answers questions like "which Shopify orders from last week are not yet in Tally" or drafts a credit note for review, with write actions gated by approval. A standard order, customer, inventory and refund scope typically takes a few weeks; multi-godown, multi-GSTIN or marketplace add-ons extend that.
