AWS Cloud Migration & Modernization

Move to AWS.
Improve what lands there.

A cloud migration is more than copying servers. AIONDATA maps dependencies, chooses a migration path for each workload, builds the landing architecture, executes migration waves, and leaves your team with an environment it can secure, observe and operate.

THE RIGHT MOVE FOR EACH WORKLOAD

Modernize with a reason.
Not for a trend.

We assess business risk, dependencies, operating cost, security, performance and team capability before choosing a target architecture.

01

Discover and assess

Inventory infrastructure and applications, map dependencies and utilization, identify compliance constraints, and build a directional business and migration case.

Evidence for scope, sequence and cost
02

Rehost or relocate

Move suitable workloads with minimal application change when timing or data-center exit is the priority, while designing the AWS foundation and recovery path correctly.

A controlled first move to AWS
03

Replatform

Containerize suitable services, adopt ECS or Fargate, move databases to managed services, and automate delivery where this reduces operational burden.

Less infrastructure work, better deployment
04

Refactor and optimize

Use event-driven services, Lambda, managed data, caching and content delivery when the workload benefits from elastic scale, resilience or faster iteration.

PRACTICAL MODERNIZATION PATHS

What a migration can
actually look like.

These are architecture patterns, not automatic recommendations. The right answer may be to retain, update or retire a workload rather than rewrite it.

01
EC2 applicationAmazon ECS / Fargate

Package a suitable application as containers and move deployment, scaling and service health into a managed orchestration model.

Container readiness, persistent storage, networking, task sizing and team operating skills must be assessed first.
02
Long-running server taskAWS Lambda + events

Move bounded, event-driven or scheduled work to functions when execution shape, duration and state fit a serverless model.

Lambda is not a universal EC2 replacement; latency, duration, concurrency, state and cost profile determine fit.
03
Single web originAmazon CloudFront edge delivery

Place appropriate static and cacheable content closer to users, protect origins, and define cache behavior by route and data sensitivity.

Caching rules, invalidation, headers, authentication and dynamic responses require explicit design.
04
Self-managed databaseAmazon RDS / Aurora

Adopt managed backups, patching and availability where engine compatibility, performance and licensing support the move.

Schema, extensions, query behavior, replication, recovery objectives and data-migration downtime need testing.

MOVE WITHOUT LOSING CONTROL

A safer cutover.
A system your team can run.

Migration is complete only when traffic, data, monitoring, recovery and ownership work in the new environment.

Dependencies move as a system

Applications, databases, identity, network routes, certificates, jobs and external integrations are mapped into migration waves—not treated as isolated servers.

Landing-zone controls come first

Accounts, identity, least privilege, logging, encryption, backup and recovery requirements are established before production workloads arrive.

Cost and performance are measured

Right-sizing starts from utilization and load tests. Budgets, tags, alerts and review ownership help prevent avoidable post-migration spend.

A DECISION BEFORE A BUILD

From discovery
to dependable operations.

Every phase ends with something your stakeholders can review before the next commitment.

  1. 01

    Assess

Collect inventory, utilization, dependencies, service levels, security needs and business deadlines. Assign a preliminary 7R strategy.

    Portfolio view and directional case
  2. 02

    Mobilize

Design accounts, identity, network, logging, security controls, infrastructure as code, migration tooling and the first wave.

    Landing architecture and wave plan
  3. 03

    Migrate and validate

Replicate or rebuild, rehearse, test application and data behavior, measure recovery, and cut over with agreed checkpoints.

    Validated workload and rollback evidence
  4. 04

    Modernize and operate

Right-size, add cost controls, improve resilience, tune performance, document operations, and prioritize the next modernization step.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Questions to settle
before you migrate.

We use current vendor guidance as an input, then validate the design against your workload and constraints.

Do you recommend lift-and-shift or modernization?

It depends on the workload and deadline. Rehosting can reduce migration time, but it may carry existing operating cost and technical debt into AWS. Replatforming or refactoring can create more value but requires more testing and change. We assign a 7R strategy workload by workload rather than forcing one answer across the portfolio.

Can you move an EC2 application to ECS, Fargate or Lambda?

Yes, when the application fits the target. ECS or Fargate can suit containerized, long-running services. Lambda can suit bounded event-driven or scheduled functions. Some applications should remain on EC2. We assess runtime, state, storage, network, scaling, execution duration, observability and cost before choosing.

What happens before the first production workload moves?

We define the account and network model, identity and access, centralized logging, encryption, backup and recovery, tagging and cost controls, infrastructure as code, environment promotion, monitoring, testing, cutover and rollback responsibilities.

Can you minimize migration downtime?

We design for the lowest practical interruption using replication, staged data movement, parallel environments, rehearsals and explicit cutover checkpoints. The achievable window depends on database consistency, external integrations, DNS and certificate changes, and how the application handles parallel operation.

Do AWS programs or credits apply to our project?

Eligibility, opportunity registration, funding and credits are controlled by AWS and can change. We do not promise incentives. Where relevant, we can help prepare workload scope, architecture and migration evidence for review with your AWS account team or an authorized AWS Partner.

Is AIONDATA an AWS Partner?

AIONDATA does not currently claim AWS Partner status. We provide independent cloud engineering and implementation services. If your procurement or incentive path requires an AWS Partner designation, we will address that requirement transparently during discovery.
