Acumatica offers a native Shopify connector through its Commerce Edition, which suits many retailers. Others need something the connector does not do well, such as multi-warehouse allocation rules, custom order workflows, B2B customer pricing on Shopify, or syncing to several stores from one tenant. An Acumatica Shopify integration built by AIONDATA uses Acumatica’s contract-based REST API and the Shopify Admin API to sync stock items, prices and warehouse availability to Shopify, bring orders and customers into Acumatica, and return shipments and tracking, either alongside the native connector or in place of it.

Should we use the native Acumatica Shopify connector or a custom build?
If you are on Commerce Edition with a single store and standard flows, start with the native connector and we can help configure it. When you need custom order logic, multiple stores, B2B pricing or fields the connector does not map, a custom integration is usually the better path. We recommend one after a short discovery of your setup.
How real-time is the sync?
Orders come in through Shopify webhooks and are created in Acumatica within seconds to a few minutes. Inventory changes can be pushed using Acumatica push notifications or polled on a 5 to 15 minute schedule, depending on your API licence limits. Product and price updates are typically hourly.
Can AI agents act across Acumatica and Shopify?
Yes. We can build a custom MCP server that exposes both APIs so an assistant can locate an order across systems, check warehouse availability or re-sync a SKU. Write actions are limited to approved operations.
How long does an Acumatica Shopify integration take to build?
A standard items, inventory, orders, customers and shipments sync typically takes a few weeks including testing in an Acumatica sandbox tenant. Multi-store, multi-warehouse allocation rules or customised endpoints extend the project to roughly two to three months.
