We use the QuickBooks Online Accounting API, a REST API secured with OAuth 2.0, which covers customers, items, invoices, payments, bills, journal entries, and reports. Webhooks notify the integration when entities change so we can sync in near real time instead of polling.
Our primary focus is QuickBooks Online. QuickBooks Desktop integrations are possible through the QuickBooks Web Connector and the QBXML SDK, but they require a Windows machine running QuickBooks to be available, so we discuss whether migrating to Online or using a Desktop-specific approach makes more sense for you.
