Zoho Books is Zoho's cloud accounting application, popular with small and mid-sized businesses in India, the US, and other regions for GST/VAT-compliant invoicing, expenses, banking, and reporting, and it is tightly linked to Zoho CRM and Zoho Inventory. Businesses integrate Zoho Books when they run non-Zoho systems, such as a different CRM, eCommerce store, or custom app, or when they want Books data available to AI assistants and reporting tools. Zoho Books and AI assistants (MCP)
Official MCP server: available. Zoho's official Zoho Books MCP is a default Claude connector (49 read and write tools) and works with other clients through Zoho MCP at no extra cost; calls use your API limits.
Besides syncing Zoho Books with your other systems, we can give Claude, ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot controlled access to it through an MCP server: read-only tools first, write actions with approval steps, and every call logged.

How do you integrate with Zoho Books?
We use the Zoho Books REST API, authenticated with OAuth 2.0 and scoped to the organisation and modules you allow, covering contacts, items, invoices, payments, bills, and journals. Webhooks and Deluge custom functions inside Zoho Books can push changes to us in real time.
Is a custom integration necessary if we are already in the Zoho ecosystem?
Zoho CRM, Inventory, and Books integrate natively, and we make use of that where it fits. A custom integration is usually needed when the other system is outside Zoho, when native sync rules do not match your process, or when you want an AI agent or data warehouse connected to Books.
Can we connect Zoho Books to an AI agent?
Yes. AIONDATA can build a custom MCP server that wraps Zoho Books endpoints as tools, letting an AI agent look up invoices, payment status, and vendor bills and, with approval, create estimates or invoices. Access is limited by the OAuth scopes granted to the agent.
What about Zoho Books API limits and data centres?
Zoho Books enforces per-organisation daily API call limits depending on your plan, and your organisation lives in a specific data centre (for example .com, .in, .eu). We design the integration for the correct data centre endpoints and use batching and webhooks to stay within your API quota.
