Teams and AI assistants (MCP)
Official MCP server: available. Microsoft's Work IQ MCP server (GA June 16, 2026; usage-billed) reads Teams messages along with mail and files; the dedicated Work IQ Teams server for posting and channels is in preview.
Besides syncing Teams with your other systems, we can give Claude, ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot controlled access to it through an MCP server: read-only tools first, write actions with approval steps, and every call logged.

How do you build Microsoft Teams integrations?
We build Teams apps using the Bot Framework and Teams SDK for bots and message extensions, Adaptive Cards for interactive notifications and approvals, and Microsoft Graph for channels, chats, users and files. Authentication uses Microsoft Entra ID so users are identified with their existing accounts.
Should we use Power Automate or a custom Teams app?
Power Automate is a good fit for simple notifications and approval flows, especially with Dynamics 365. Custom Teams apps make sense when you need conversational bots, complex Adaptive Card interactions, or connections to systems without a good Power Automate connector. We often combine both.
Can Teams connect to our AI agents?
Yes. AIONDATA can expose Microsoft Teams to AI agents through a custom MCP server built on Microsoft Graph, and can deploy AI assistants inside Teams that use MCP servers for your ERP, CRM and support tools. Users get answers grounded in live business data without leaving Teams.
How do you handle security and governance for Teams apps?
Apps are registered in your Entra ID tenant with least-privilege Graph permissions, and admins control availability through the Teams admin center. We follow Microsoft app manifest and permission guidelines and can support tenant-scoped deployment without publishing to the public store.
