BigCommerce and AI assistants (MCP)
Official MCP server: in preview. BigCommerce's MCP server has been in beta since April 28, 2026 and serves shoppers: product search, cart and checkout handoff, plus B2B buyer tools; it has no store-admin tools.
Besides syncing BigCommerce with your other systems, we can give Claude, ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot controlled access to it through an MCP server: read-only tools first, write actions with approval steps, and every call logged.

Which BigCommerce APIs are used in your integrations?
We use the BigCommerce Store Management REST APIs (Orders, Catalog, Customers, Price Lists, Inventory), the Admin GraphQL API where it is more efficient, and webhooks for events such as store/order/created and store/product/inventory/updated. For B2B Edition clients we also work with the B2B Edition APIs.
How does a BigCommerce ERP integration handle inventory across warehouses?
We map ERP warehouses to BigCommerce inventory locations and push available-to-sell quantities on change or on a short schedule. Reserved and committed stock rules are applied on the ERP side so BigCommerce only ever shows what can actually be sold.
Can we expose BigCommerce to AI assistants?
Yes. AIONDATA can expose BigCommerce to AI agents through a custom MCP server that provides read and, where approved, write tools over orders, products and customers. This is useful for support copilots and internal operations assistants that need live store data.
Do you build BigCommerce integrations as apps or as external services?
Both, depending on need. Most ERP and CRM syncs run as an external service authenticated with a store API account. When merchants want an installable, multi-store experience we build a BigCommerce app using OAuth and the App Extensions framework.
